case study. Using conflict resolution
methods such as: delegation, mediate, educate, problem solving if applicable to the situation.
You are team leader on the night shift, which includes two permanent certified nurses’ aides (CNAs) who have worked the division for more than 20 years. They provide moderately good care when asked, but they are not exactly self-starters who look for opportunities to keep themselves busy. A new nursing graduate, Michael, started on the night shift a month ago. He used to work as a CNA on this division while he was going through nursing school, and he had great rapport with the other two CNAs. Now, however, they barely speak to him, only grudgingly assist him when asked, and often don’t even complete assignments that he asks them to do. In fact, they are doing only the minimal work for all the registered nurses on the division and are frequently found talking together at the nurses’ station. Michael, on the other hand, is certainly a team player who provides excellent nursing care and works well with everyone else on the division.
As the team leader, you don’t want to lose any of the permanent night-shift staff over this conflict
