Start by reading the paper on Self Determination Theory (SDT) written by Gagne and Deci (2005):

This paper describes self-determination theory as a theory of work motivation and shows its relevance to organizational behavior. In this case assignment you are asked to:
Summarize self-determination theory, compare and contrast it
with three other theories of work motivation, and then critique it.

2. Choose three theories of work motivation described in Gagne´ and Deci (2005).
3. Analyze the major differences between those three theories and self-determination theory.
4. Use work-related examples to illustrate each theory and discuss the differences between the theories in your own words.
5. Critique self-determination theory based on what you know about work motivation.
