Title: Baby Boomers

  • Total Pages: 2
  • Words: 932

  • Citation Style: MLA
  • Document Type: Research Paper
Essay Instructions: Hello,

There are two components to this assignment: (A) and essay proposal and (B)an annotated bibliography.

(A) Essay Proposal

In no more than 300 to 400 words, you must explain how you have decided to approach your topic at this preliminary
stage in the essay-writing process. Do this in (3)paragraphs. In the first paragraph, identify the topic you have chosen (Baby Boomers)and review your thinking that went into narrowing this topic so that it can be adequately addressed in a 1500-1700 word essay.(I will request the essay at a later time. The essay itself is not due until April 2/04). Specifically identify the question your essay will answer.
In the second paragraph, discuss at least three of your sources by explaining how they have shaped your understanding of the topic. For example, you might note how the sources corroborate one another or how they provide differing historical interpretations of the subject under study.
In the third paragraph, first reveal your thesis and then discuss the historical significance of your topic. Try to answer the questions "So what?" or "Why does this matter?" The thesis you propose here may ultimately differ from the thesis you present in the final draft of the essay.
Essay proposal evaluated for the evidence of careful thought.

Annotated Bibliography

Provide an annotated bibliography of at least eight(8)sources you will rely upon for evidence to prove your thesis. If possible, at least one of the eight sources should present primary evidence (e.g. a government document, autobiography, contemporary newspaper article, etc.) When using secondary sources, be sure to rely solely on scholarly literature(e.g. journal articles, scholarly monographs, specialised encyclopedia and reference works, etc.)
For each source, you must provide a bibliographic entry, formatted in strict accordance with the rules of footnoting/endnoting and bibliographies.
You must also provide annotation(75-100 words) for each source. The annotation should (1) identify the topic of the book, article, or primary source; (2) note the thesis or purpose of the work; (3) remark on the methodology or evidence used by the author; and (4) explain the value of the source for your essay.
Evaluated on the quality of the sources you have used and your attention to detail in formatting your bibliographic entries.
Please note I am a Canadian student! The essay proposal and annotated bibliography must come from Canadian sources. I am looking forward to using the services you offer. Thank-you
