1. ?It would degrade me to marry Heathcliff now; so he shall never know how I love him; and that, not because he?s handsome, Nelly, but because he?s more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same, and Linton?s is as different as a moonbeam from lightning, or frost from fire,?(98).
? Catherine is admitting that she does truly love Heathcliff, but this quote shows how she is not much more open minded than those who surround her. Although they have always been close, Catherine still refuses to marry Heathcliff because she knows that it will ruin her social status.
2. "?I seek no revenge on you,?" replied Heathcliff, less vehemently. "?That's not the plan. The tyrant grinds down his slaves and they don't turn against him; they crush those beneath them,?? (138).
? This quote is important because Heathcliff does not wish to punish Catherine in any way.

-Always trust yourself.People who give sometimes always expect something in return and that is the only reason to give. To make themselves look like something they are not.
