Reflective Case 1- 40 yr old male who had a history of drug abuse, he had run out of prescription drugs to facilitate his habit. Patient was complaining of 8 out of 10 pain and wanted Morphine administration for pain relief, he was a drug seeker. We had no choice but to administer Morphine to patient because of pain complaint, which i thought was wrong.

Reflective Case 2- 80 year old male residing in nursing home with a history of dementia, had suffered a mechanical fall landing on his right side. Initial complaint was his left hip, upon physical examination he was complaining of pain all over his body when palpitated. there were no signs of injury, ie deformity, bruising, swelling. A few moments later his pain subsided but when palpitating again his pain would suddenly return. The nurse said that in the past he often complained of being in pain from a previous incident from his early teens and that he would often reenact the incident. His Dementia was affecting him.
