Instructions for Ph College Essay Examples

Title: communication

Total Pages: 1 Words: 465 Sources: 0 Citation Style: APA Document Type: Essay

Essay Instructions: Ph.D. level reaction paper of the research article

High level reaction paper guides are as follows.

Focus on: (1) the main ideas conveyed in the papers, (2) what they imply for consumer behavior, marketing, and other substantive domains (e.g., organizational behavior), (3) how you would extend these ideas (e.g., new hypotheses, follow-up studies), (4) what questions remain unanswered, and (5) how you could improve the methodology employed by empirical papers in addressing the research questions at hand. I strongly suggest you to jot down in a separate paper your ideas in your own language for the purpose of class discussion and also for doing research in the future. More detailed criteria for evaluating papers are as follows:
1. What is the big idea or research question of the paper? Is it interesting theoretically? Is it interesting managerially?
2. Why do you think the paper was published? In other words, what are the central findings of the paper and how does the paper make a significant contribution to our knowledge?
3. Is the paper positioned properly?
4. Is the literature review integrated or just pieced together? Are the constructs properly defined in a conceptual sense? Is the conceptual framework grounded in a theory or integration of theories?
5. Do the hypotheses follow logically from the literature review? Are the hypotheses strongly developed?
6. Does the research design permit a strong test of the hypotheses? Is the research setting and method appropriate? What would you have done differently to test the hypotheses?
7. Do the authors really manipulate/measure what they said they would manipulate/measure (or are two or more variables confounded)? Are the measures reliable and valid?
8. Are the empirical results meaningful and valuable? Are there any alternative explanations to the results?
9. Do the authors’ conclusions follow logically from the data, and are limitations and qualifications addressed adequately?
10. What new research questions are raised by this paper? What specific future research ideas come to mind while reading the assigned articles? How can the paper be extended?
11. In general, what are the main strengths and weaknesses of the paper?
12. In general, what did I learn from the paper?
There are faxes for this order.
