Essay Instructions: personal Philosopy of Nursing

Personal Nursing Philosophy of Nursing
Since the historical and contemporary Nursing practice, Nursing had always had a significant impact in people?s life. The care provided was related to physical maintenance and comfort, thus nursing traditional role was connected to humanistic, nurturing, supporting, and comforting. My personal philosophy of nursing is that human being?s health and environment are linked together because each cannot live independently without the others. Human being can be directly affected by his or her own environment and the nursing care adapted for the individual because nursing care is the fundamental tool that help people reorganize automatically programmed response to life situation and to regain a functional ultimate health.
Florence Nightingale defined Nursing as the act of utilizing the environment of the patient to assist him to recovery. I belief nursing is the bridge between the living and the sick as an infinite and eternal beings. Two circles locked together yet everyone knows that there are differences that are true but does not matter when it came to nursing. I belief the most important part of the nursing theory is the patient, or the human being as a whole. Each individual has its own footprint. The same care cannot be applied to another person for the same result as each one of us is a single human being with its own needs, desire, health, and happiness. There are also other factors to consider when caring for the sick such as client values, and also environment. These two factors can play an important role in the person health or recovery. They can impact someone physical, and mental health. Study have shown that the person with failing eye sight will probably place a high value in the ability to see, and the client with a chronic pain will value comfort, and the person with depression during the fall or winter will have more problem of recovering from his or her ailment if the nurse did not understand his or her values. Nursing is like a million dollars computer that may work perfectly, but if you put garbage-type programming in it, you will get garbage type results from the splendid machine. Nursing take his values from knowledge and past experiences programmed along with research like a computer it allow individual to explore and pursues area of the field you will never imagine. which bring me to client environment. Virtually every aspect of human health and well being is linked to his or her environment. The air we breathe, the climate or weather we experience, the food we eat, the water we drink all of it is part of the environment in which we live, work, or play. Change or inbalance of the environment will affect the individual because diverse environmental factors affect the distribution, severity, diversity and persistence of diseases process and other health effects. For example, In developed countries, malaria kills one million people every year, and people that live in the most pullulated cities are lost because of chronic exposure to pollution. Thus environmental matter and nurses are directly involved in providing a biologically safe environment because microorganism are ?present everywhere in water, soil, and on body surfaces that can develop and affect others human being when given the opportunity. That is why human health and environment is very important as it reflect the person ability to adapt to his or her environment and to sustain a happier and active life without disease or infirmity. Health has many definition depending on the person perception of health. For me health is defined as freedom of disease or abnormalities a condition of optimal well being, physical, mental, and spiritual health. But in 1980, The American Nurses association (ANA) defined health in its social policy statement as ?a dynamic state of being in which the developmental and behavioral potential of an individual is realized to the fullest extent possible ?(ANA, 1980, P. 5). The true is that everyone has it own concept of health. It is a process a way of life through which a n individual develops and utilize all aspect of the human body, minds, and emotion to evolve harmoniously. However, health is an ever changing state especially when the variables are not in balance. Illness occur when there is an inballance with the variables . I am referring to any environmental factor or stressors the forces of nature that must be kept in balance or harmony, such as essential nutrients, psychosocial and physical presence or absence that can lead to disease. Many variables influence a person?s health status and practice.
The central reason for the existence of nursing is the nursing process in action the ability to provide individualized nursing care for individual, families, groups, and communities in all health care setting. Nurse focuses on problem solving and decision making because when the sick person seek help he or she has a problem that need to be solved and Nursing just does that.
