Perfection

Perfection is an illusion. But trying to achieve it keeps the ball rolling. No matter what one does, trying to perfect the process, to make things more efficient, is the motor that keeps one motivated to improve. As long as this motor is running everything is in balance, but what if this goal has been achieved and is no longer interesting?

The novel ``The Timemachine´´ by H.G. Wells discusses this topic. The Timetraveler comes from his time, the beginning of the twentieth century, where the world is far from being perfect, to the year 802,701 to see a world that seemingly has achieved perfection. But when looking behind the façade it looks very different.
The Eloi seem to have perfected their world. There are no diseases, no hunger or war. They seem happy and content. But after a while it looks different. They are unconcentrated, dumb and childish.

Essay Instructions: "In the 5th meditation Descartes offers a proof for God's existence. Argue that this particular proof from Descartes is not convincing."

Within this essay there should be a discussion of the analogy of the triangle. Even with the possibility of a triangle nonexistence in the real world the concept, idea of a triangle exists in my mind as a object of thought. Their existence as an object of thought has a set of properties that are essential to them. To think of a triangle is to think of these properties.

Descartes focuses on the idea of God, the set of properties that are essential to the idea of God is to contain all possible perfections, arrives at idea that if God contains all possible perfections then must have actual perfection of existence. Therefore Descartes arrives at the idea that when he is thinking of God he is thinking of something that exists, therefore God must actually exist.

This essay should be based solely on Descartes 5th meditation, and only if absolutely necessary briefly include any relevant points from Descartes 3rd meditation.

Yes you use reading 1.2 for the four dot points and then discuss things like framing, gatekeeping, construction of social reality as appropriate to your particular example.
The essay structure should be based around the four bullet points in relation to your examination of the romantic relationship.
When you are discussing your personal experience/comparison between the real and mediated experience you need to have media theory to support the discussion.
Therefore as a minimum you need reading 2.1 & 3.1. There are other media sources you can use to discuss the media effects concepts but this is a good starting guide
The Harvard system of referencing is the preferred mode.
