Essay Instructions: Paper needs to be about the disadvantage/dangers of linguistic profiling (a term coined by John Baugh, refering to making specific generalizations or judgements about a person based on their accent or dialect)in the USA. Examples of how linguistic profiling has been or can be used is needed. Some opinions and reasoning for opinions can be included.

Essay Instructions: The course for this paper is Historical and Comparative Linguistics, and as such the paper should focus on the linguistic history of the Insular Celtic language family(focusing mainly on the Goidelic languages)and and how it compares to Proto-Celtic. Mention could be made to Franz Bopp who made note of "systematic correspondances between the Celtic mutations and certain facts in Greek, Latin and Sanskrit." (page 280, Benjamin W. Fortson IV. 2004. Indo-European Language and Culture: An Introduction. Malden: Blackwell Publishing)
There should be some quotations, but not an excessive number. Apart from Fortson`s book (listed above), the other textbook used in the course is by Terry Crowley. 1997. An Introduction to Historical Linguistics. 3rd ed. Oxford: Oxford University Press.
As you have specified the pages as being double-spaced, I have given the number of pages as being about 12 not including bibliography. I must submit the paper as single-spaced and it must be no less than five pages long. It must include relevant charts and tables and NO MORE THAN ONE INTERNET REFERENCE MAY BE USED.
