Title: Culture Analysis

Total Pages: 9 Words: 2272 Bibliography: 9 Citation Style: APA Document Type: Essay

Essay Instructions: Research Paper (Culture Analysis)
Prepare a research paper of approximately where the topic must address “The Indian culture". Regardless of the writers own cultural base (which is Italian) ??" when making comparisons between the researched culture and one’s own culture ??" the comparison must be between the Indian culture and the USA. The paper must be original to this course. This paper must include the application of theories and concepts addressed in Adler. The paper should provide an analysis of the nuances of the culture. Anyone reading the paper should be able to use it as a blueprint of what the researched culture is like and how to function smoothly within that culture.
• The challenge will be to find material about your chosen culture that will allow you to make connections to the information in Adler.
• What values, attitudes and behaviors of yours (that is ??" your culture) might clash with the chosen culture?
• Discuss the chosen culture applying the Values Orientation Dimensions found in Table1-3 on page 22 in Adler as they apply to your chosen culture. Do not copy this Table in any form without receiving the author’s permission.
• What would be the most appropriate managerial/leadership style to utilize in this culture and why? Provide specific examples of behaviors in the culture that lend themselves to the style you choose.
• What stereotypes might one have of this culture (as a person from the USA) that would hurt one’s effectiveness, and what stereotypes would help one’s effectiveness?
• If there are specific words or ideas that one would not be wise to use or address in that culture, include this information.
• What non-verbal messages (gestures, facial expressions. and other body language) are important to know so that they may be used if necessary and not used if inappropriate?
• What techniques for motivating the employees in the chosen culture would be most appropriate and why?
• How might your own culture’s version of ethical behavior clash with the ethical standards of the chosen culture (assume your culture is the USA)? How should/could one deal with this?
• Any paper that does not adhere to the requirements of the paper will not be considered a passing piece of work.
• Do Not simply write a history of the culture. This is not what I’m asking for. Please analyze the culture as if you were going to be working in that culture --- using the information in Adler as your framework for the paper.
• Several outside resources (other than Adler and Northouse) will be necessary in order to create a complete picture of the chosen culture.
• NOTE: Please write in third person. Do not use I, Me, Mine, We, or You. This is a formal research paper. Using first person or second person is not appropriate.
It is understood that you will use Adler for the basic outline of your paper, but the specific cultural information must come from other sources. It is expected that you will use at five or six outside sources and most likely more.
The paper should include an abstract (See APA). Please be certain the paper has a well-constructed introduction that contains a clear statement of purpose and a brief discussion of the approach and limitations that may apply. Ensure that the body of the paper accomplishes the stated purpose and approach, and that the summary analysis and conclusions are based upon a clear chain of logic.

There are faxes for this order.
