Essay Instructions: I need a paper on “Disruptive Physician Behavior”. The focus is on the relationship dynamics between doctors, nurses, and other groups in the hospital setting.

Physicians have a wide range of behaviors from being supportive and helpful to staff (Clinicians and Administration) to being dictatorial and abusive so they sometimes create conflict within the working environment of the hospital. Less frequently conflicts arise between physicians and the hospitals’ Information Services department. These conflicts include expressions of frustration about ease of use of a computer system to outright verbal attacks when things are more frustrating to them.

It is fairly common knowledge that when physicians are needlessly difficult or hostile, nurses, or other employees, avoid dealing with the difficult doctors. This could have a negative impact on quality of care and patient outcomes so it is certainly worth exploring.

It would be great to work in physician dissatisfaction related to the use of computers in the hospital.
