Course Objectives

This assessment item links the Course objectives 1-5 are as follows:

1. describe and discuss the theoretical concepts and principles of strategic management, including the formulation and implementation of strategy
2. apply the tools and techniques of strategic management to a variety of organisations in case studies and assignments
3. analyse strategic programs at the corporate, strategic business Unit (SBU), and functional department levels
4. bring together the other courses of your Bachelor?s degree into an integrated approach to business strategy.
5. to write an Executive Report on a pany as if you were a professional Strategic Management Consultant.

You are required to read the Guide for Students and to follow the format of the Executive Report structure given. (Chapter 3). The heading and sub-heading of that structure will guide you in the right direction( can be viewed at this link below)

http://www.bus..edu.au/CStudent/Guide/default.htm

As you read the case, look out for:

1. important questions posed by people in the case or the case-writer; and
2. the main issues, problems and opportunities
and then include your answers to them within the Executive Report structure.

Similarly, if a case actually poses a number of questions, you should include the answers to those questions inside your Executive Report.

Also note that all cases have different emphases, so some sub-headings will require more attention and a few might not appear at all (as the case does not involve them at all).

For example, if a business does not have a portfolio of SBU?s (Strategic Business Units), divisions or products at all, or if they are not important to the case, then you would not include a Portfolio Analysis Section in your Executive Report.

In some cases the pany is doing well and students then wonder what they are supposed to do. In such cases you need to focus on:

1. why they are doing well
2. what can they do about their weaknesses and
3. how can they do even better, including their possible opportunities in the future.

Assessment criteria and marking criteria

I will send the case study material, important structure guidelines, remended references source and all information to you via this email address

Please be careful regarding to SWOT analysis, as last time I used your service, and the lecturer remended about the report that there was no analysis provided to turn weaknesses into strengths etc.

Also Porter?s Five Forces Model should have final analysis (see porter model.PNG).

SWOT analysis

? Turn Weakness to Strength.
? Turn Threat to Opportunity
? Strength and Opportunity have to match (each point have to match for both side)
? Don?t forget to analyse SWOT (what is that mean, remendation, explain, how it?s work, etc.)

The lecturer also said ? should use the marking criteria as a guideline to do the assignment?, please see ?Assesment Criteria.PNG?

The report needs only references not bibliography (see additional resource.doc).

P.S. This is my second time to use your service. Last time I got the mark 19.50 out of 30. For this one the total mark is 40, I would expect to receive around 30 out of 40. Because if I got 30 score from this one, so my total mark could pass this course. However, please be aware of plagiarism (see additional resource.doc).

Essay Instructions: Based on research obtained through Greencarcongress.com, EVWorld.com, and other internet sources, discuss the Battery Electric (BEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric vehicles (PHEVs) that will soon be or are now available from manufacturers worldwide. Do these ventures represent, in your view, true industrial efforts, or are they simply green-wash from major car manufacturers, or stock market promotions from minor ones? Discuss the market potential of these vehicles as suggested by currently available and widely discussed surveys and forecasts (J.D.Power, Bloomberg New Energy Finance, Ford, etc.) Should these surveys and forecasts be relied upon, or are they unreliable for reasons of conflicts of interest, over-caution, lack of imagination, etc.? In your judgment, what is the potential for these cars? Will these new vehicles constitute disruptive technologies, or are they inadequate to the requirements of a transformation out of fossil fuels? Nearly all of the announced vehicles use Lithium Ion batteries of one form or another

Title: Tesla Motors analysis

  • Total Pages: 4
  • Words: 1365
  • Sources:4

  • Document Type: Research Paper
Essay Instructions: Requesting writer with username: excellencio

Tesla Motors is a unique company that manufacturers automobiles that run 100 percent on electricity. The company has received a lot of attention in the media. In spite of loans from the federal government and various tax advantages given to alternative fuel vehicle manufacturers, the company has had huge ups and downs and has come close to bankruptcy at least once. However, it has recently had enough success to repay a large loan from the government.

Initially Tesla only produced expensive sports cars that only the very rich could afford, but the company is now expanding into producing more cost-effective vehicles. In spite of recent successes, Tesla does face many hurdles. It is a relatively small company compared to the world?s major auto manufacturers. It faces competition from hybrid vehicles that are much cheaper, such as the Toyota Prius. Nissan has even come out with a relatively inexpensive fully electric vehicle?the Leaf.

Consumers may also be unwilling to face the inconvenience of a fully electric vehicle. There are few recharging stations compared with gas stations in the United States, and it takes far longer to recharge an electric vehicle than to fill a vehicle up with gas. So while there is large public support for environmentally friendly vehicles that will lower our dependence on foreign oil, Tesla faces many obstacles and must carefully plan its future in order to compete with the large auto companies and expand its consumer base.

Do some research on Tesla and the market for electric vehicles and see what you can find regarding Tesla?s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Here are a couple of articles to get you started:

Tilley, P. (2014, Feb 20). Tesla Motors offers the epitome of automobile innovation. The Dispatch[Available on ProQuest]

Rechtin, M. (2014). Tesla's biggest test. Automotive News, 88(6603). [ProQuest]

Mandel, D. (2013). The great Tesla bubble. Automotive News, 88(6590) [Available on ProQuest]

Once you have completed your research, write a 4- to 5-page paper addressing the following items:

Conduct a SWOT analysis of Tesla Motors with specific discussion about what you think are the main strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats facing Tesla.
Based on your SWOT analysis, give some recommendation for some specific steps Tesla should take in order to grow and remain competitive.

SWOT= Strengths, Weaknesses, Oppurtunity, Threats
