The aim of this task is for you to articulate your current personal leadership framework. A leadership framework is a set of organised ideas which help you to understand leadership, the roles of leaders and followers in different leadership situations and assist in thinking critically about what you read and hear with respect to leadership. It should reflect what you have learned about leadership and show evidence of critical thinking about the major issues and concepts you have encountered in this course.

The paper should be a statement of how you think about leadership now, reflecting your ideas which are substantiated with evidence and examples from leadership research and theory. It should be a useful guide to you in future leadership situations.

Your personal leadership framework should as a minimum, provide answers to the following:

a) What is leadership?
b) Identification and discussion of some basic issues or controversies (e.g. is leadership learned or innate? How is leadership different from management? What are the qualities of an effective leader? What are the behaviours of an effective leader? How does leadership vary from one context to another? Are there gender differences in leadership? What are the current theories on effective leadership, etc).
c) A critical analysis and evaluation of what makes an effective educational leader.
