I though about discussing documentary development or western genre development, with films such as "the fugitive" and "musketeers of pig alley" or for documentary "nanook of the north" and films of the lumiere brothers s or other documentary film productions. Murder...). Discuss the development of genres in film, using background
information from class and additional research for your discussion. You may
focus on one or more genres, the choice is yours. However, you MUST discuss at
least TWO films we studied in class.

Please note: your essay needs to be focused on the earlier films studied in
class e.g. if you write an essay that compares early genre conventions of the
documentary to contemporary non-fiction films, ENSURE THAT THE MAJORITY OF THE ESSAY STUDIES THE EARLY FILMS!
