Competitive positioning and successful operation in the global market requires knowledge and experience in decision making and negotiation processes of managers from various countries. It is crucial for international managers to explore the distinctions among cultures and how these distinctions could affect decision making styles and processes. For this assignment, select a country (except Canada) in which you are interested, and imagine yourself immersed in a discussion with an employee from that country.

Write a 3-4 page paper in which you:

1)Briefly outline the global market situation that is creating conflict and requires negotiation that will lead to decision making.

2)Identify four (4) possible verbal and nonverbal communication barriers.

3)Create a negotiation dialogue between employees from each country that illustrates three (3) possible obstacles to reaching a decision about the conflict. For instance, obstacles could include language barriers, different views of how employees should be treated (vacation policies, benefits), or communication protocols.

4)Apply one of the cultural decision making styles to the negotiation for each character to reach a conclusion.

5)Analyze three (3) primary ethical challenges that may differ from the U.S. ethical practices during this interchange.

Essay Instructions: The purely rational decision-making model fails to include the influence of emotions on each of the stages recommended described in the process. Emotions help draw attention to decisions that need to be made, they help us assign values to goals and/or behavioral intentions, and they motivate us to focus energy on problem. Unfortunately, they can also lead us to impetuous, reactionary actions when we are overwhelmed with stress and anxiety. Recall that the fifth personality trait is Neuroticism. High levels of Neuroticism, when combined with unbalanced competing traits, can lead to various errors of judgment.
a) Assume that you work with four managers. Each has a different dominant personality trait as listed below. How would these differences affect the way each manager frames decision making situations?
