The paper should address the following:

- When Roszak refers to the "naked mind", what is he talking about and why does he praise it? What reference does he make to the relationship between the mind and the machine? What is your response to his argument?

- What does he claimis the "mainstay of the technology in the mass market"? What is his critique? Do you agree or disagree and why?

- What is the primary concern that he voices about the relationship of nuclear waepons and computer scientists? Do you think his concern legitimate is valid or not? Explain.

- What is the issue of the finacial markets which he is concerned about? Do you view his concers as legitimate? Does it matter if money is diverted away from what Roszak calls the "real economy"?

- When he refers to an "unresolved tension between computer literacy...and plain old print literacy..." what is he talking about? What is your response?

- Explain what Sherry Turkle's essay meant by when she refers to simulation, and she says: "...they also accustom us to manipulating systems whose core assumptions we may not understand..." Why does she think it is important to be able to challenge "their built in assumptions"? Why does she say "in the real world we have never had a greater need to work our binary assumptions"?

- When she says that PowerPoint carries its "own way of thinking", where "presentation becomes its own idea", what is she referring to?

- Lastly, what does she mean when she says that "...embedding [information technology] in a culture that supports democracy, tolerance...and the complexity opinion is one of the next decade's greatest challenges. We cannot afford to lose".
