Essay Instructions: Zombie Virus Outbreak Scenario Presentation:
There has been much speculation related to the possibility of a Zombie Apocalypse as a result of virus outbreak. Your assignment is to create a scenario; where you believe this could happen on a widespread basis. Use all resources available to you, both real and fictional to create a presentation in which you outline the scenario of a Zombie Virus outbreak including possible origin of the outbreak from the standpoint of disease, potential response by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, local government, and individuals. Within your presentation, give your assumptions of what you believe could be the best and worst case scenario and what could be done to stop the spread of virus before it consumes the world.

? Describe the background for the scenario and what type of disease causes the outbreak.

? Describe what you believe could make the human population vulnerable to the virus.

? Describe environmental factors that could make the population vulnerable to the virus.

? What might be the most likely modes for virus transmission, if any?

? What methods could be used to control the spread of the virus? Are there possible alternative methods that could used by the population for treatment? What might be the effect of alternate treatments?

? What role could social and/or cultural influences play in the spread of the virus among the human population? What might be the effects of the populations? beliefs and values on treatment options?

? Identify potential community health promotion and wellness strategies to help prevent the spread of the virus.

Utilize a minimum of two references to support your claims

Essay Instructions: Describe the history of the zombie argument and demonstrate how it poses a problem for Physicalism. Give a Physicalist response to the argument, and say whether you think it defuses the problem.

Essay Instructions: Discuss how the western world has turned into societies fueled by a culture of consumerism zombies, talk about how capitalism fuels consumerism. How we buy and consume things without reason or purpose other than to consume. We line up at movie premier and Apple stores for hours and even days on end just to be the first ones to purchase the latest and greatest gadgets or watch the first screening of the latest movie for no other reason aside from being the first ones to do so. Make a comparison and contrast of zombies to consumers in the west. Talk about conspicuous consumption, how we are brain washed to buying things we don?t need by advertisers. How we are aimlessly drifting in a world that has betrayed our faith in humanity with consumerism. Therefore, we have become a society of the walking thoughtless mindless consumer undead. Present both sides but defend the argument of western societies turning into consumerism zombies.

Essay Instructions: Compare and/or contrast the films "I Walked with a Zombie"(1943) and "Rosemary''s Baby"(1968) under the lens of cult films terms and definitions (i.e. taboo, paranoia, etc.). Include the impact of each films respective decade and cultural geography.

The guidelines are pretty loose. No direct quotations from the movie are needed. Not too technical of a paper please. Just a compare/contrast paper on these two cult films. For example: compare the theme of the presence of evil surrounding us in the two films.
