Everything soon will be accessed through wireless technology at higher speeds than ever, watching wires from one end to the other, will soon be a thing in the past. Wires gliding across the room cause so much disruption and can also be very hazardous, causing fires and electricity shocks. With wireless technology evolving, we never have to worry about those conditions occurring. As everyday technology continues to grow day by day, it is imperative that large and small corporations begin to start looking at other options in establishing relations and better service to their consumers. By upgrading their systems to a wireless one; not only will their systems be up to date with the latest technology, however these corporations taking part will also allow better service to their consumers and also to their own employees. Never again will an employee miss a deadline because he or she could not connect to the network because of unavailability of a disconnected wire. With a wireless system, this can all be avoided, allowing anyone within the company, whether consumer or employee, to connect to the corporation`s network without a problem. This article looks at some of the challenges of trying to read hidden bar codes and what is being done to improve this capability:

Abstract: New methods of reading bar codes through paint and other materials - developed by researchers at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center - could help solve the problems that some companies face when marked items and parts are covered with paint and other coatings. That ability to read hidden bar codes (and other marks) is particularly critical in industries such as automotive, aerospace and defense, which are initiating direct-part marking programs in order to improve inventory management and to aid in recalls when defects are discovered. The NASA technology effort, now known as the Read Through Paint Project, grew out of NASA's efforts to develop a better way to mark and track parts during the 1980s and 1990s. Researchers came up with five methods of reading hidden codes - magneto-optic, ultrasound, infrared imaging, capacitance and radar - but are initially focusing their efforts on magneto-optic and ultrasound.

Among the supply-chain applications envisioned or the new capability is vendor-managed inventory. D-Link Systems Inc. devised what is being called the first dual-radio, 2.4-GHz/5-GHz wireless router. It can simultaneously handle 802.11 a wireless traffic at 54 Mbits/sec, 802.11 at 11 Mbits/sec, and 802.11 b at 22 Mbits/sec.

The medical center has struggled with ongoing problems related errors surrounding patient medication, misplaced lab results and delays in updating patient charts. Physicians complain that they must often make their rounds with incomplete or delayed patient information. At the same time, the nursing staff has expressed concerned with incomplete or incorrect orders from physicians and that lab and radiology orders are difficult to track. Nurses also complain that nursing assistants make frequent errors in properly recording patient vitals. To make matters worse, the administration is deeply concerned about an increase in the number of critical incidences related to incorrectly medicated patients.

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is confident that many of the problems could be alleviated if healthcare professionals were better able to access and leverage information systems anytime, anywhere, and preferably nearest to the point of patient care. Accordingly, the CTO has tasked you and the advisory committee with drafting an excutive summary outlining what relevant technology solutions are available, along with recommendations of how they should be used to correct the ongoing problems, increase efficiencies and improve the overall quality of patient care. The CTO also advises that the committees report will be presented to the board of directors, so she recommends that the overview and recommendations be supported with case examples from other healthcare institutions.

Remember, the board is comprised of busy healthcare and management executives that do not have a great deal of technical knowledge related to information technology systems. Accordingly, keep your summary informative but concise, and also target it at the executive management level.
