Title: The National Football Leagues Requirements to Enter the Draft is a Violation of Antitrust Law

Total Pages: 15 Words: 4609 Sources: 0 Citation Style: MLA Document Type: Research Paper

Essay Instructions: 1) Paper Topic.
The National Football League?s Requirements to Enter the Draft is a Violation of Antitrust Law
2) Introduction to the Topic. Explain the reason you are investigating this area for your paper and summarize what the research says about this area. For example, is there conflicting research?
Maurice Clarett, for the time being, has won a landmark case. District Court Judge Shira Scheindin?s ruling declared that the NFL?s requirements to enter the draft a violation of antitrust law. If the ruling is upheld, as it is going to be appealed by the NFL, this case will forever change NFL football and NCAA college football. The reason I want to do a paper on this case is because this case could change the game. It would be interesting to see how kids would play straight out of High School. The NFL obviously has the rule so that the kids will be at least 21 before entering the draft, their feeling is a kid younger then this is too immature and not physically ready to play in the physical game that the NFL is. The big question is does the NFL?s rule, that was established by the player?s union, violate anti-trust laws. Judge Shira Scheinin?s says yes, but the NFL will appeal and feels very strongly that they will win the case in appeals court.
3) Brief Outline. The outline should include an explanation or plan of how you intend to organize your paper.
