Essay Instructions: I have to work on an independent study which includes the following:
The book is Stephen King's Shawshank Redemption

First page is a summary-
A one full page summary of the novel
Break it down into beginning/middle/end...also think of intro, rising action, climax, falling action, conclusion

Second page is a descriptive writing-pick a setting, and describe it right down to the slightest detail. This exercise is designed to bring out your vocabulary and imagination. Include all of the five senses when describing the setting. What does it look like? How does it smell? is there anything you can hear?

Try to use some words in the assignment such as antagonish, oxymoron, pragmatist, pun, foreshadow, metaphor, soliloquy, aise, personification

Third page is an alternate ending- a)is a 300 word reflection on whether or not the ending was fit for the book. Did it not finish at all? Did it tie all the loose ends? Did you like it? Did you hate it? How did it make you feel? Did it make things even more complicated?
Fourth and fifth pages is b) the second task to write between 550-600 words alternate ending.
Create your own ending for the book read. Be creative. Cut off the novel where you think is suitable (Teacher will know where it was cut off based upon my summary) and continue the story with your own ideas in an attept to write a better ending.

The only resource needs to be the book . Please include titles and complete 5 full pages for the assignment. I have received some assignments that fall short of a full page. Lots of detail and information is needed. Thanks

Writing a film review is much like writing any other short essay. There is no universal formula, but following a few basic guidelines can simplify the task.

The primary objective of the exercise is to evaluate the accuracy and application of various criminal justice activities that are portrayed in the film. Specifically, you are to compare and contrast the events in the film with material you have been exposed to in your study of the field of criminal justice.

I don't care whichever film you pick but please do not give me a summary of the film (your last writer actually give me a full 3 pages summary of the film. That I do not want). It is all about commons and opinons. By the way do not common of discuss or mention about racism in this essay.
