Title: ADHD assessment of children by school nurse

Total Pages: 18 Words: 4948 Works Cited: 0 Citation Style: MLA Document Type: Research Paper

Essay Instructions: I need to develop a tool for school nurses to use for assessment of children who might have Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. I have to do an exhaustive literature search (peer reviewed articles, research, and books no older than 5 years) and then talk about the lack of good assessment tools available for the school nurse to use and how my tool will be of use to her/him. I suspect there is very little available specific to a tool but a lot of information about ADHD. Most of the information is for teachers, parents, counselors, and/or psych. specialists. Any of the information could be used to develop a tool for the school nurse. Drug companies such as Lilly, Jansen, or Abbott have medications that are for ADHD in children and may have research on the effectiveness of their drugs. I'm not sure what kind of paper this is called, perhaps a Project paper. I am a nurse who is completing my masters as a nurse practitioner in psych/mental health. I will of course need a bibliography page. I hope this helps.
