Instructions for School Bullying College Essay Examples

Title: School bullying

Total Pages: 6 Words: 1799 References: 3 Citation Style: APA Document Type: Essay

Essay Instructions: My problem is school bullying.
Task: Pick three empirical articles related specifically to your topic and evaluate the quality and applicability of these articles’ techniques.

Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to help you gain practice in critically reading and assessing empirical research studies in the social work field as well as drawing connections between them.

Details: The three articles should be thematically linked, such as “homeless teens in urban settings.” The articles should provide clear details about the population, sample, research methodology, data collection techniques, and findings. Ultimately, you want to identify consistent themes in the literature, areas of disagreement and possible explanations for the contradictory findings. You also want to explain how your study relates to and builds upon these previous studies. In order to do that, you will want to take a look at (not necessarily in this order) the following:

- the population of interest of the research project
- the researcher’s sampling technique (How did the researcher select and recruit subjects?)
- the inclusionary and exclusionary criteria
- any practical issues the researchers faced
- the method of data collection
- the author’s findings and conclusions
- what evidence supports the conclusions
- any ethical dilemmas you or the author identified

You will also want to critically analyze the following for each article:
- why was the researcher’s method of data collection appropriate for the topic?
- how well does the sample represent the population of interest?
- to whom can you generalize the results of this study?
- what are the strengths of the article that you could use in your own project?
- what are the limitations that you could improve upon?
- how can you apply their handling of practical and ethical problems in your own project?

Do not simply address each item in each article. Make the paper flow, and make the presentation of the material interesting.

Reference page: if you cite, a reference page must be included in APA style.
Due Date: Papers due in class week 7, March 19.
Grading: Your paper will be evaluated on content, including application of concepts from class and readings, inclusion of all areas described above, grammar, spelling, and effective written communication skills, use of APA style, adherence to Lehman College policy on Academic Integrity.
There are faxes for this order.

Title: Graduate School

Total Pages: 2 Words: 752 Works Cited: 0 Citation Style: MLA Document Type: Research Paper

Essay Instructions: This essay is required for all programs. Please write an essay providing a response to each of the following questions:
1. What are your goals for graduate study and your future career?
2. In what ways do your academic background and your professional experiences provide evidence of your potential for success in the program you selected and in your eventual career? Please give specific examples of relevant coursework and/or experience.
3. Is there any further information we should consider in assessing your candidacy?

Here is some information about me: I need top quality essay that is on a personal-level, thank you:

My plan is to study with determination during the counseling program. Using knowledge and experience from my graduate studies to build a successful school counseling career.

Child Care- 13 and 11 year old girls: development of psychology in adolescents.
Helped them and guided them with problems and school pressures.
-Had the opportunity to speak to them on a personal level and was able to be there to counsel them.

Academic Background: Excelled in all of my psychology and education classes grade wise. As a history major and a minor in psychology with an almost completed teacher education certification, I found my greatest interest in my psychology and education classes.

For one of my education classes, I tutored a student in a middle school. As a tutor, I worked individually with one student in the eighth grade. I came once a week for an hour and helped him prepare for the state test, ASK. In addition, I would bring in different materials to help my student improve in his verbal skills. At the conclusion of the program, both my student and I did notice great improvement in his confidence and verbal skills. He also talked to me on a personal level. He would say how he was getting bullied and that he was unorganized. So I did help him in academic advisement by suggesting ways to become organize and not to be a procrastinator as well as listen to his problems and suggest ways to deal with it. I told him to practice confidence and speak to the bully verbally, but never use any anger towards him/her. He did try it and the following speak told me that the boy stopped bullying him.

When conflicts arose, I helped to solve problems. For example, coaching a volleyball team of high school girls for three years. Came a time when I had to be a mediator. Gave me the idea that I can become a counselor because the way I coached and counseled my players brought success to the team and players, on and off the court.

Many children find comfort in me as well as being able to trust me with their problems and follow through with/respect my advice. I have heard problems from school bullying, pressures of clothing, low self esteem, etc.

A school counselor helps with academic advisement. I myself am very organized and encourage others to do so. I also encourage good behavior to others and having children realize their potential and with hard work/determination is possible. Growing up in a positive atmosphere is what brings a child to have a good self esteem. As a school counselor, I would love to have each of my students believe in him or herself and work hard in school because that is where opportunities open up.

From my experiences dealing with children, I developed knowledge and an enormous desire to help them on a personal level. To be a school counselor is an obvious choice for me to become a productive member of society.

Title: Psychology lab report

Total Pages: 7 Words: 2784 Sources: 0 Citation Style: MLA Document Type: Research Paper

Essay Instructions: I?d like to know if you can help me with my assignment, and if so, at what cost? I am a second year psychology student (Australia) and the assignment that we have been given is as follows:

Research Report: Individual ?Dummy? Experiments

One of the primary objectives of this course is for you to be able to competently design, conduct and analyse a research project. However, the ethical requirement that undergraduate projects be closely supervised makes it unfeasible for you to actually conduct an individual research project. Thus the major assessment task is to design an experiment and undertake the entire research process with the exception of the date collection phase. You will be required to select your own topic, develop your own realistic data det, analyse this data (using SPSS 10 statistics program), and then write up a research report as if for publication. Thus your report must contain all the relevant sections as set out in the APA publication manual that is a Title, Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and a Reference List. The report should be of approximately 2000 words in length.

Note: This is a design and analysis course, the purpose is to show that you know how to go about answering a research question so it is not necessarily the case that the most complex design is best. Similarly, the size of your data set should be based on sound design principles, such as the appropriate level of power required, rather than ?big being best?. Marking will be weighted towards the Method and Results sections.

You MUST include your raw data in an appendix, along with appropriate tables from your analysis (ie Statistics software printouts) and have the raw data and data analysis available on floppy disc. Assignment is due Friday October 4, 2002.

OTHER INFO

Statistics that we have learned to calculate so far include: z scores; t-tests including related measures t-tests and independent measures designs; one-way ANOVA; chi-square; calculation for power, confidence intervals.

In lectures we?ve also talked about POST-HOC tests (in particular Tukey, Bonferroni), planned contrasts/planned analysis (testing specific Hypotheses); contrast coefficients (eg 1,1, -2); and calculating an F comparison.

We are expected to use SPSS ver10 statistics Program to manipulate data for this assignment. All raw data is to be ?fabricated? but should appear realistic in that the means, sd, test scores etc must be believable but still show a statistical significance between control group and experimental groups. Number of participants would probably be somewhere between 30 - 80 so the topic should suit this.

We can choose any topic we want but THE DESIGN MUST BE EXPERIMENTAL. I have a keen interest in ?foster care? and ?school bullying? but it does not have to be related to either of these topics. Remember, I am in Australia so it should be a study that isn''t too typical of just America. Australian research material always helps.
I normally get either a Distinction (between 75 & 85%) or a High Distinction (above 85%) in my marks. For this subject I?d like to receive a high distinction. I normally use MS Word 2000 to type my assignments, 12 point font, times new Roman. Assignment to be double spaced.

PLEASE NOTE: I have put 7 pages to account for a 2000 word paper at approx 275 words per page. However, this would not include the Reference list used or the Appendices needed. I will add my own title page later. Note also that the raw data and the computer analysis needs to be available on floppy disc. Please email me with any other questions or queries.
