Assignment description:
Suppose you are a designer for robot applications and you are hired to develop an application for your application domain using the robot assigned to you (Pepper robot, see above link). Answer the following five sub-questions (each can earn you up to 4 points). You can answer each sub-question in approximately 150 words (?20%). For answering sub-questions a, b and c, consult Looije et al. (2017) ? available through Blackboard. Terms highlighted in CAPITAL LETTERS are defined in Looije et al. Refer to literature when appropriate.
Questions:
a. Specify the main OBJECTIVE(S) for which you design your robot. This objective should be relevant to your application domain and it should be feasible using the robot assigned to you. Motivate your objective and argue why the robot assigned to you is suited to reach that objective.

b. Describe a USE-CASE with appropriate methods that aim to achieve at least one of your objectives. Explain how this is achieved.

c. Specify one of the INTERACTION PATTERNS (shaped by one or more functions) to bring about your use case (or part thereof). Focus here on the modality of interaction (speech, gesture or otherwise), keeping in mind the strengths and weaknesses of your robot (refer to those).

d. Position the design of your robot in Dautenhahn?s (2007) conceptual space of HRI (draw a picture) and argue why you position it there and not elsewhere in the space.

e. Suppose you can redesign your robot. What feature would you add or change to your robot to optimize its functions to achieve the objective(s) described in a. Motivate your choice.
