Read the first two LONG sections (not stanzas!) of the Rime, approximately 4 pages.

To start the essay write 3 meaningful questions that could possibly be answered by the text with some though, not yes or no answers. Then write the word hypothesis and state a reasonably specific hypothesis which is your first thoughtful answer to my question, try and make everything fit in that section, and if it doesn't meditate on the page about how the stuff that doesn't fit could alter, complicate, qualify your orginal hypothesis, then rewrite a more complex hypothesis at the end of your entry.
My Question to answer:
Assuming that the psychological-spiritual level is at least to this point grounded in actual literal experience with nature-given their "ice-olation," why would the crew intuitively compare the bird perching on their ship to a "Christian soul"? Why would someone want to kill it?
