-This paper needs a precise thesis statement, nothing vague. After writing the thesis statement, you will need to support it with both primary sources and secondary evidence. I will send you the primary source by fax. The secondary evidence can be chosen by the writer. When using the primary source, try to identify the context and possible bias of the source and be sure not to ignore evidence counter to the main argument.

-Don't use too many quotes, there needs to be more text than quotes. Just use one quote if necessary, but that's it.

-Avoid using the first person or "I" and use past tense when describing past events.

-Don't forget to title the paper. Something precise that alludes to the main argument usually works best. Please don't ignore this or this come up with something that isn't relevant to the topic at hand.

-Even though this is only a one-page paper, I want it to be as vividly detailed and credible as possible. The point of this assignment is to think and write like a Historian.
