Your department has recently merged with another department in your workplace. You have been chosen to lead your department, and merge the two groups into one self-directed work team. The focus of this project is on the stages of team development, not the steps of a corporate merger.

Outline a plan describing the following:

How you will develop a new team within your department
Stages in the development of team members into one team
Your role as the leader in each stage
How potential conflicts among the team members will be resolved
How you would establish credibility as the new department head
For each step in the outline, provide a brief explanation of the reasoning behind it.

Research is required for this option. Use the library, the Internet, or your textbook to complete your research on these issues. Cite all sources appropriately.

Presentation Guidelines

The following guidelines for your PowerPoint presentation will be used to grade your work as well:

Limit the number of words on slides. Slides are designed to supplement your presentation, not to be your presentation (in this assignment, it is to supplement your research paper).
Avoid paragraphs.
Use bullet points.
Use succinct phrases instead of sentences.
Limit each slide to 6 bullet points.
Use simple fonts.
Fonts "with feet" are easier to read (in a paragraph).
Fonts "without feet" make nice titles.
Choose color combinations that make your presentation easy to read.
Limit graphics to 1?3 per page. Too many graphics can be distracting.
Bells and whistles tend to be distracting for the viewer. Make sure that special effects have a purpose.
Proofread and spell check your work.

The vice president (VP) of your company is fabulous at his job, but his speeches over the years have earned a reputation for being long and disorganized. You have been asked by the chief executive officer (CEO) to work with and coach the VP on how to best organize a presentation from scratch and deliver it effectively to the intended audience. Develop a how-to guide for your VP on how to best get started.

You will want to assume he has never had formal training in how to best prepare and deliver a speech, so consider basic speech training when you prepare your guide.

Include instructions on each of the following:

Choosing and developing the most appropriate topic
Considering your audience

Essay Instructions: I need a 5-7 min. persuasive speech on why it was good for us adults to take this public speaking class.I need an attention getting opening statement and to preview 3 main body points in the introduction, three main body points, and a conclusion reviewing the thesis statement and a pleasant ending.
