. Pick ONE component of the drama to analyze and research; for example, dramatic structure, character, or cultural analysis. Avoid giving a plot summary, explication, or critique. Do Not define literary terms or other words. Start the essay with an interesting Title that reflects the content of the essay. In the Introduction, start by stating the title of the drama and the author?s name, give a short summary of the drama, give background about the drama and/or author (cite resources), and state the Thesis Sentence (Pick ONE Topic listed below for Thesis points). The last sentence of the Introduction is the Thesis Sentence. There should a Thesis point for each Body Paragraph (3-5 Thesis points/Body Paragraphs). Each Body Paragraph should start with a Topic Sentence which should include the Thesis point the Body Paragraph will discuss. Use quotations from the drama and the secondary resources in each Body Paragraph to support the analysis. Use quotations in the Introduction and Conclusion if needed. After each quotation, analyze and discuss the quotation in the following sentences. In the Conclusion, show how the analysis supports the theme of the drama (Ch. 10 ?Theme?)
