II. Purpose

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the student’s ability to identify a situation that illustrates use of critical thinking in the management of care for a client with uncomplicated healthcare needs. This assignment also provides the student the opportunity to employ information literacy skills in the selection of an evidence-based article which supports the standard of care. Finally the process will allow students to demonstrate competence in professional writing and use of APA format.

III. Guidelines

1. Confirm the client situation to be used as a basis to write your critical thinking paper with your clinical instructor.
2. The critical thinking paper (not to exceed two double-spaced typed pages) will be submitted in place of one weekly care plan, NOT a major required written assignment for each rotation.
