I support PAS and think it is the humane thing . I believe anyone who is terminally ill should have the to right to choose how they die. My mother-in-law had herself put in a coma when she was suffering from terminal cancer. she died one week later. she spoke to each of her six children then asked to be put in a coma. she watched two husbands die from cancer and chose not to suffer through chemo and radiation which would have prolonged her life. she also didn't want to leave her children enormous medical bills to pays. Please don't use "I" when supporting my ideas, please support ideas with research. I will try to e-mail you my first paper. I know it is not very good, but it will give you some idea of what my first paper was about. Also it will give you my internet sources. I hope I haven't forgotten anything Thank so much. The main thing is paper should be worded with citations only as a supporting point. don't humiliate the audience just support PAS without demeaning the opposing side.

Write an argumentative essay in which you evaluate either James Rachels or Dan Brocks argument in favor of the moral permissibility of active physician assisted suicide. Your paper should be structured as follows. (1) Reconstruct either Rachelsor Brocks central argument regarding the permissibility of active physician assisted suicide. This section should be clearly organized into argumentative steps and should carefully explain the rationale offered by the author to support each claim. (2) Develop an objection to some aspect of the argument posed in part one from the perspective of either Daniel Callahan or Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist. This section should only raise one objection. The objection should be clearly and narrowly focused on a specific point or step from the previous section. (3) How could the author in part one respond to the objection? This section should not restate the argumentative points advanced in part one; instead, this section should consider the best possible response to the objection. You may draw on other class readings to help motivate your response in this section (including Oregons Death with Dignity Actand R.B. Brandts essay)

I am going to fax all the works listed above I am not sure which text would be easier to write about.

Essay Instructions: This paper must take a position AGAINST Physician Assisted Suicide. It is an ethics class at a Catholic university, so we must demonstrate why Physician Assisted Suicide is unethical/wrong. This paper cannot be a paper that is down the middle. We have to chose a side and then back up that side.

References should be from ethics journals and from medical/nursing journals. Adding books is OK as long as 5 journal articles are used as well. You don't have to have 10 references. You just have to have 5 journal articles. No internet references (wikipedia, for example), no personal references (my grandfather . . . ), and no TV/Movie references allowed. References, where possible should be within last 5 years but it is OK to go older if it makes sense.

The paper should be 10 pages long, exclusive of the bibliography and title page. The paper should clearly state a
thesis and the evidence for it. The paper must adhere to the Chicago Manual of Style.
