The topic of your paper should cover some aspect of physical anthropology - human biological origins and development.
In your paper, please be sure to remember to demonstrate ability to identify and use terminology and concepts learned in this course to a setting outside of the textbook and course environment in an analytical manner. For isntance, a paper that describes difference in paleoanthropological dating methods in detail would move outside the scope of the course, but is NOT analytical. A paper that discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the various techniques and makes suggestions as to their best use would be outside the course scope AND demonstrate analysis on the part of the student. Similarly, a paper that describes primate taxonomy would merely repeat material learned in the course, without real analysis. A paper that uses primate taxonomy and characteristics to explain the suggested classification of a new hominid find (such as Homo floresiensis) would be using course material, expanding it, AND using individual analysis.
