Essay Instructions: i am taking History of Civilizations II, and the book name i am using for my class is WORLD HISTORY SEVENTH EDITION BY WILLIAM J.DUIKER AND JACKSON J. SPIELVOGEL. The requirements for this paper are as follow:

1. Typed with 12pt black ink.
2. 1" margins on all sides and double spaced.
3. A minimum of four seven pages in length.
4. A minimum of two outside (non textbook) sources that are cited at the end of the paper on a bibliography/citation page. The internet can and should be used and cited. However the internet cannot be counted as one of the two sources. A good paper should have at least four sources.
5. Bibliography/citation page should contain author,title,publisher, and published date.7. In each question keep in mind the key themes of continuity, change, and context.

My topic: By the mid to late 1800's, the ottoman Empire was sometime referred to as the '' sick man of Europe". Why? Was this an accurate assessment?

Essay Instructions: Paper should explain why the decline of the Ottomans didn't just happen but it was something that happened over time.
Using these four main reasons to explain the decline.
1)The growth and expansion of Russia from the 18th century onwards.
2)The Ottoman failure to reform the inefficient system of government they were using
3)The decline of the Ottoman Military, include the rise and fall of the Devsirme and the Janissaries.
4)Did attitudes of many of the powers in the west (including Russia in the east) before the first world war cause the collapse of the Ottoman Empire or was the collapse caused by the Ottomans themselves.
