By the time you have read the first 150 pages of the text, you will be keenly aware of the number of different adjectives, adjectival phrases and eipithets that are added to any reference to Odysseus.

The man of twists and turns, great,luckless, wise, exile, never at a loss, king, mastermind cunning god's own, great, hearted, lord, flexible, wily, brave.
While there is a legitimate poetic reason for the constant recurrance of these characterizations, they also help us get a sense of the way the narrator regards the central charcater and importantly, the way the other characters in the next regard the central character. I have asked you to keep careful track of the ways in which Odysseus is characterized as you ead, so it should be fairly easy to chooses several of the adjectives or epithlets that appear to occur most often and to write a descriptive sketch of Odysseus, featuring a well-foscused characterizing sentence/thesis and some good evidence to support, your controlling idea.
