Professional Nursing Roles. This is an eight question essay. Review a nursing role of interest to you that requires a BSN or higher. You will need a job description, sample organizational chart, salary ranges (local/national), certification requirements, information regarding available jobs (local/national), information on potential ethical issues related to the role, pros and cons related to the role, and information on how the role evolved. Be thoroughly prepared when you answer the questions. Review current journal articles and interview someone in the role that you are interested in.

I was thinking some possibilities might be a Nurse Anesthetist, Nurse Practitioner, or College Nursing Professor. Local area would be Jacksonville, Florida.

Essay Instructions: Requirements: The main purpose of the essay is to convey why you admire a certain person using objective correlatives. The writer should convey through a story of some kind, without explicitly saying, a portrait of this person and why you find he/she so admirable.

I was hoping to have the piece centered on my mom, who works 90-100+ hours a week as a nurse anesthetist. I want it to convey how hard working and dedicated she is to her job and family. I want it to show how she works so hard at her job and still comes home complaisant. If needed, I can give more dynamics on the family so it can be more personal (ages/names).

Again, the main focus is the use of objective correlatives. The writer should not explicitly say that she is hardworking, rather show it throughout the story using symbolism and other lit. techniques.

Essay Instructions: I'm looking into creating a subspecialty fellowship for Anesthesiologist Assistant in Pain Management. It would be similar to a specialty fellowship for Anesthesiologists. Currently, there are no subspecialty fellowships that exist for secondary anesthesia providers (Nurse Anesthetist or Anesthesiologist Assistant). Given the growing elderly population, the ability to perform regional blocks and write prescriptions for narcotics under the guidance of an Anesthesiologist would increase access to quality healthcare.
