The importance of this issue to the biological field is attributed to its far-reaching implications that have generated controversial philosophical and moral debates. Generally, genetic engineering or genetic modification can be defined as the use of various techniques to modify or manipulate organisms through reproduction and heredity procedures. This field is described as gene cloning or recombinant DNA technology with which gene DNA molecules from different sources are pooled in vitro or cells and entered into host organisms that they are able to propagate ("Genetic Engineering," n.d.).
