democracy: urban governmentality and the horizon of politics (Appadurai) uses the demonstration of an Alliance to explain how deep democracy, democracy without borders, enables the poor to unite, or federate, and learn to solve their own problems and meet their own needs. The Alliance is made up of poor families who work together on a global basis, provide criticism of member communities for learning and exchanging, and equip the partnerships with more powerful persons and organizations to form a mutually sustainable cycle of processes.
