Essay Instructions: My thesis is:New Orleans is a city still ill equipped to face future storms.

Katrina was a disaster from the government down to the geography of New Orleans(below sea level,etc.), to the levees aren't made for Category 3+ hurricane. If another major hurricane should hit New Orleans it would still be a disaster.

I had to hand in a bibliography mid-semester to show some works i'll be using. it's only three. You have to use these three and the next 7+ use at your discretion.

Essay Instructions: This is a group assignment. My portion of the research is, prior to hurricane katrina, conduct research on the history of the levee system, funding issues with the levee system, who controls the levee system, strength of the levee system, how was the levee built (materials), Federal and local hurricane/emergency ops plans, and evacuation plans. Was there any research indicating that the New Orleans levees would not hold any certain category storm. What happened to the Marsh Land (the natural barrier).

Essay Instructions: The case for this module involves a recent tragedy and a potential silver lining. The recent devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina to the city of New Orleans and surrounding areas needs no elaboration here; you all saw the pictures. What is interesting is a piece of the technological aftermath -- namely, the decision of the city to deploy a citywide WiFi system while a state of emergency still remains in effect, and the city is still essentially flat on its back. The background information contains a large number of references to deployment of wireless technologies and to their availability in a wide variety of settings, both corporate and urban. You are strongly encouraged also to do further research using search tools in this area, since this is a breaking story, and by the time you get around to doing this module, odds are that the situation will have changed again; you don't want to look silly by presenting information that is now been rendered obsolete by breaking events. The underlying issues of course remain salient.

The fact that people might question your these is irrelevant, as long as your presentation is compelling and well delivered.

The paper should have a thesis statement, an explanation of the problem, the reasons why it should be addressed, and the consequences of failing to do so. Paper must be written using proper research form, including footnotes and a bibliography. On-line sources are permitted, but no blogs or random opinion pieces from unrecognized sources will be accepted under any circumstance.
