Title: Marie Antoinette

Total Pages: 6 Words: 1548 References: 5 Citation Style: MLA Document Type: Essay

Essay Instructions: I also need work sited and annotated bibliographies.
I would highly appreciate an outline within one day, a draft within two days, and the completed work on the third.

Please use the following guidelines to form the paper. No need for an elaborate introduction as I am mainly interested in discussing the five points below:

1- Marie Antoinette's personality in Sophia's film "Marie Antoinette" appears innocent, childish, carefree, unfamiliar with the French etiquette, extravagant when it came to fashion yet quiet and timid around important personalities in the palace. Do historical facts support this? You may also discuss other qualities of Marie's personality in light of comparing the film with historical facts. Please only discuss Marie's character as presented by historical facts.

2- Sophia creates many links between the French royalty of the 18th century and our world today, through the use of music and language. Also, Marie at the beginning of the movie appeared as a typical American girl, not like a princess from Vienna. Have these links harmed history or created false implications? Answer this while maintaining the comparison between what the film presents and what the facts from historic sources reveal.

3- There are evidently some historic facts such as Marie’s spending on her chambers’ refurbishment and furniture and the affair of the necklace which were omitted from the movie. Briefly mention these or any other omitted facts and what significance they had on the perception of Marie’s character in the movie VS reality.

4- In the film Marie was not involved in any of the state affairs and did not appear to have influence on her husband, nor on any political figures. With the exception of the clapping scene, she also did not appear to try and confront or change any of the traditions. Does this agree with historical sources?

5- In the film Marie’s personality changes a little bit after she consummates the marriage, but the changes we see do not reflect a higher concern for the affair of the state or the country, they only reflect a stronger sense of isolation and focus on her children. So Marie’s bravery in committing to stay with the King when the revolution becomes a threat is surprising. What historical facts support or contradict these changes?
