Essay Instructions: Multicultural Education in the United States
You are to address the issues in multicultural education that will help you become more aware of the concerns of the issues in education. This paper will focus on selected demographics from a historical and Current perspective as well as the extensive information regarding what are the current issues among the multicultural education. Future trends will be predicted with an implication.
The written proposal will be split up into 5 section and should include the following except the core contents:
A working title for the overall research project
The following statement (completed): My study is about...
Why you perceive this to be a problem worthy of study and how you will approach it.
Brief description of your knowledge and/or experience in the area around which the problem revolves
Section 1
In Section 1, your first task is to outline of your project in the diversity issues that will be the subject of your paper. Write a short introduction of your topic (discipline) and how you will approach it.
Develop it as a written proposal form explaining what you intend to do and the number of points for which you wish to work within your discipline of diversity issues.

Section 2
What We Know
You are to write a paper on the concerns in multicultural education among the several areas addressed in the research. The first part of this paper was done in Section 1 : Write a short introduction of your topic among the diversity issues in education.
You are to study recent issues in the professional literature (Journals) regarding your Discipline, on multicultural education to get a sense for the articles that appear in the literature about your discipline.
In Section 2, based upon your readings and research, you are to develop a theory section of your paper titled, 'what we know.' That is, what the literature says about your topic. In preparation, you may choose to research and critique one or more published activities for the issues you had chosen. Or, you may choose to write a brief literature review of your discipline on multicultural education. Reviewing the literature will not only inform you about current research completed by others, it can also help inform your own research. Provided here is an example of how to cite a reference: "According to Banks (1997), students from diverse regional, social-class, religious, ethnic, and racial groups often achieve at different levels in the common schools."

Section 3
What We Do Not Know
As your last step in section 2, you summarized the "theoretical framework" section of your paper, 'what we know.' Please continue to develop theoretical framework while focusing on 'what we do not know' for Module 3. For this, we need to know what information is still missing? What findings are unclear or inconsistent? What questions do you have from the review? These questions will also support to establish your problem statement, as well as the theoretical framework for your future study. These insights might determine the ultimate value of a research study more than any other factor. That is, your module 3 task is to summarize 'what we do NOT know' at this time. When you read a scholarly or peer-reviewed source, there will be a section that says what is not found, a section of limitations, a section that gives suggestions for further research, etc. This is where you will get the information on what is not yet known in your area. Or you may want to venture into areas that you feel need to be researched.
Please do not be sweat so much by this issue, 'what we do not know.' Just try to have some questions for further study on the diversity issue based on your reading so far. If you do have a problem with this, you may keep working further on part of the section 2, 'what we know,' instead.

Section 4
Research to Fill in a Gap
You are to write a paper on the concerns of the diversity issues in education among the several areas addressed in the research.
As your section 3 task, you summarized 'what we do not know.'
Given the literature you reviewed, as your section 4 task: you are to begin to explain what the information means and you are to address the answer of "so what?" question. What researches/actions do you recommend based on your study? This can be a section where you can be creative.

Section 5
Abstract or Executive Summary
As your section 4 task, you summarized what research you would do to fill in a gap you identified in our knowledge about diversity issues.
As your section 5 task,
make sure that you have addressed the following issues throughout the modules:
What do we know
What do we not know
Given what we do not know, what issue should be addressed
How would you address that issue? What research/actions do you recommend based on your study?
2) You are to add an abstract or executive summary to the front of your paper. This abstract should be so well written that, if a person choose your abstract, he or she will want to read your entire paper.
