You can mention the recent situation of the mosque as a conclusion. ( destruction of the minaret after civil war) But please remember that main focus is the history of the building, not the recent event.

Similarly, the decorations of the mosque, the history of the city of Aleppo is irrelevant if they have nothing to do with the history of the mosque.

You have read that Media Framing establishes the essence of a news story. Frames enable a coherent understanding of a news event, because they call up larger structures of social meaning, such as myths, narratives, and metaphors that are widely shared within a culture. You have also read articles that brought up specific instances of media framing and the consequences of such frames (e.g., the press effect).

As part of this assignment following news story ["Mosque at Ground Zero"] on two different U.S. television websites [e.g., CNN and MSNBC], and follow the same story on CNN and MSNBC or another reliable news web sites.

Here is the assignment:

Follow about an hour of news/news hour/news analysis on two US television web sites: e.g.,CNN and MSNBC (about an hour on each channel; 2 hours in all).

Pick a particular issue ["Mosque at Ground Zero"], covered in the news, of national importance. Compare and contrast the frames used by the two television stations/website discussing the issue. First, define and discuss the concept of framing. Cite the source of your definition. Then write a page describing the available research on the specific issue that you are covering. Then identify at least 2 or 3 frames used in the context of the reporting and then describe them very clearly. Are there a couple of frames that crop up in all the news sources?

What is/are the frame(s)? Name the frame(s). For instance, in the recent election "the female candidate" or "the black candidate" frame cropped up frequently. Does one channel use one particular frame with regularity? What are the consequences (political, social, etc.?) of that frame? Use of the theories that you've learned that address consequences (e.g., Cultivation analysis, stereotyping, etc.) Enjoy your assignment; label the frames; give them names, and establish why you named them the way you did.

In addition to using the data gathered from your web work, you may use information from your prior viewing/Internet browsing to make powerful arguments.
