Title: Missionaries in the Mission Field

Total Pages: 7 Words: 3240 References: 7 Citation Style: MLA Document Type: Essay

Essay Instructions: WE WILL PAY $100 for this one!!!

I'm taking a class called "Research and Writing for Documentary" and I've chosen a topic: "Missionaries in the Mission Field." I've narrowed my target to one Korean-American Missionary, Missionary Chang and his family who are reaching out to the indigenous people in the Amazon. I have to follow specific instructions for this paper. I will e-mail you all the background information on my project later tonight. But before I do so, please contact me if this is something that you guys can do. thanks.

PART 1 (One page)
A project synopsis which gives an overview of the
story and the approach that will be taken to telling the
story. Include intended length and medium (film or video).
Note: A synopsis is a short, focused, condensed overview
of the piece. One paragraph only.

A discussion of the importance of the story, with
information about the intended audience and what the piece
should accomplish for the audience. One paragraph only.

PART 2 (No more than one page)
Information about how the piece will be presented to its
intended public. This section should reflect your
thinking about every possible situation in which your
work could be appreciated. For example, will you seek out
specialized audiences? Is it appropriate for social issue
consciousness raising? Will you market it to educational
communities? Will you create accompanying explanatory text
material? Do you have a particular television venue in mind
and why?

Noting festivals as one kind of venue is appropriate, but
should be mentioned last because entry into festivals is a
game of chance!

Note that PART 2 is related to the second part of PART 1, but
will be directed to your strategy for accomplishing reaching
your audience. It will be practical and logistical in content.

PART 3 (Written as a discussion, not a list)
A review of the scope of questions to be answered through
bibliographic and tape research. Note: This embraces what
you are setting out to learn through background research and
the issues your piece investigates.

This involves more than writing a list of questions you intend
to pose to your experts and participants. Your review should
embrace cultural/philosophical issues that are part of the
context of your topic.

Final Written Presentation (2)
PART 3, Cont.
A review of library and videotape research to date, presented with full bibliographic apparatus and annotations.
(See annotated bibliography exercise.)

PART 4
An index of experts to be consulted as part of the research
process, with brief biographical information.
(See annotated experts list exercise.)

The summary of one research interview already carried out.
(Full transcript is not necessary, but a detailed summary
of information should be made.)

This interview summary must relate to your project.

PART 5 (One page only)
An overview of the coverage that will support the story to be told. This should be as detailed as is possible at this time.
This is essentially an expansion of the synopsis created in
Part 1. It should intertwine interview and location material and
give a sense of the beginning, middle, and end of the piece.

It should be written as a narrative. The goal is to give a
vivid, captivating picture of the entire piece.
(See visualization exercise.)

PART 6

B) A list of four potential funding sources for your project.
The list should reflect research done at the Foundation
Center (at least 4 hours). For each listing indicate why
you believe this funding agency would be interested in your
project. Please use Foundation Center forms.

PART 7
ATTACHMENTS
Attach several articles or excerpts that seem particularly
relevant to the story you will be telling.

There are faxes for this order.
