Using information from the textbooks listed above and any other information, write the following essay. Use MLA format and include a free bibliography. Please send it as a Microsoft Word file attachment. It should be 2 pages long (i.e. at least 550 words). Can you provide copies of sources that you may have used other than the textbooks above.

What do you see as the main differences and similarities between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance? Do you think it is more useful to think of them as one period or as two distinct periods, and why?

Essay Instructions: The European Middle Ages are often treated with disdain or ridicule by preachers at the pulpit, politicians, and even children who accuse their parents of being “medieval.” What evidence can you give that this period was an important stage in the development of human civilization?

Essay Instructions: Essay is on: What signals to you as the end of the late middle ages? Add it it (I am being specific and expect at lease these topics in it): customs, trade routs, size of cities, how people saw things, art, practices, etc... Compare and contrast a mega-wealthy American family with the Medici family of Renaissance Florence in terms of what is/was important to them.
