Essay Instructions: The research paper must include the FOUR hypothesis:
1. ID confidence will be higher following an easy event memory test than following a more difficult one.
2. False IDs will be more likely following an easy memory test than following a more difficult one.
3. ID confidence will be higher when lineup instructions are biased compared to when they are unbiased
4. False IDs from a thief-absent lineup will be higher when instructions are biased than when instructions are unbiased.
Check the file "Hypothesis", I will provide you with in order to see the study results (whether the hypothesis is supported or not). I will provide you with some relevant readings (file "Readings Paper"), yet you can use only ONE of them. The other SIX must be of your empirical/scholarly sources. Make sure you the paper is written in APA style. Please, CITE! I will provide you with some the data/results the paper must be based on. Other applicable information including a grading rubric and an example of a bad paper will be provided as well. I will send you an annotated bibliography that you may use if you would like to.

Essay Instructions: 5. Short Term Memory
Go to http://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/stm0.html and take the short term memory test. Re-create the chart with all 6 trials, and the percent you remembered to turn in. Now go to http://facstaff.gpc.edu/~bbrown/psyc1101/memory/stm.htm and read about the strategy for remembering information. Now, take the short term memory test again, using that strategy. Recreate the chart with all 6 trials for this second attempt. Write a few paragraphs discussing the strategy you used, how effective it was, and how you could improve your performance.


7. Everyday Memory
Read the paper by Loftus and Hoffman (1989) on misinformation and memory at http://faculty.washington.edu/eloftus/Articles/hoff.htm. Summarize the paper and write two discussion questions. No more than 1.5 pages.
