Essay Instructions: Hi there,

well,i had to write an essay and i did but sadly didn't pass!!!!so i have to WRITE IT again using some sources which i put them down there!!! of course i want you to use more sources as i ask 8 but the main soursces are those that i put it!!!

also, please follow the common that i got it from my tutor at the uni!!!!i really wanted as good as u can!!

SOURSECES THAT IT MUST BE USED ARE:

1-(Can input explain children’s me-for-I errors?*)

2-(http://www.linguistics.ucla.edu/people/cschutze/Dissert.pdf)

ALI

the common from my teacher at uni!!!

It would be better to start again, because there is very little of the
original essay that is relevant to the topic. The two major things that
you need to read are the paper I have attached, and the relevant
sections (principally 5.3) of Schutze's PhD thesis, available at
http://www.linguistics.ucla.edu/people/cschutze/Dissert.pdf, which give
opposing views on the reason for children's case errors. The phenomenon
you need to focus on is why many children got through a stage when they
say:
Me want that
Or
My want that
Instead of the adult target
I want that.
Schutze gives an argument based on syntactic theory, whereas Kirjavainen
and Theakston # argue that it is due to the nature of the input the
child receives. You need to explain these arguments and critically
evaluate them, and come to your own conclusion. Be very careful to
explain what the papers say in your own words and not stick too closely
to the wording of the papers.
You should also read the following, and you may wish to read some of the
papers referred to in the references of these papers

Rispoli, M (1998) 'Me or my: two different patterns of pronoun case
errors' Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research 41(2):385-93.

Rispoli, M (2005) 'When children reach beyond their grasp: why some
children make pronoun case errors and others don't' Journal of Child
Language 32.1 (93-116
