Biographical Analysis--After researching a specific area of Chopin's life, explain how the novel reflects and mirrors the author's life.

Be sure to base your analysis primarily on textual evidence of the literature and secondarily on the research. Do not spend the majority of your paper summarizing the research; instead use the research to support your textual analysis.

Essay Instructions: Pick two of the authors we read. Using web resources, find out some biographical information about each author (up to a two pages of information). Then, write a couple of paragraphs for each explaining how the information about the author's life is reflected in specifics from that author's story. Use at least 2 quotations per author. Essay Instructions: Much of the action in The Awakening is interior, taking place in Edna Pontellier’s mind. Yet without question, she faces conflict throughout the novel. Select a physical, moral, intellectual, verbal or emotional conflict and analyze its effect on Edna. Trace the development of the conflict as Edna experiences her “awakening”, from the beginning of the novel till its end.
