Essay Instructions: James Joyce's "Araby" and Haruki Murakami's "On Seeing the 100% Perfect Girl One Beautiful April Morning" deal with some aspect of sexuality as a force that moves the protagonist from innocence toward experience. How does the recognition of sexuality function in each of the stories? Discuss the relationship between sexuality and innocence in these stories. Their isnt a specific amount of quotations, parenthetical citations, footnotes, ect, it just needs to be enough to where you have not only the supporting evidence, but also reasons for why you support that claim. Further more, you may also use information from the authors background and how it relates to the story. Example could be that the author had been in war and wanted to address the pain and suffering that he had witnessed by writing a story. Also create a well written thesis to make sure that it supports the body of the paper to emphasize what you are trying to explain.

Essay Instructions: I need a paper that fits my writing level. I am an English major in my senior undergraduate year. The paper is on James Joyce and his treatment and view of the women in "The Dead," particularly Gretta, Mrs. Ivors, Gabriel''s aunts, and Lily. If needed, brief but coherent references may be made to Joyce''s A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. The paper should begin with an introduction of Joyce''s life (a brief biography) on how he has related the women in his life in the past. All information should only relate to his interactions with these women (his mother, wife, and any sisters). In addition, his attitude should be a reflection and an indication of how and why he portrays women the way he does in "The Dead." All materials should support one another. I would like direct quotes from Joyce about women cited in the introduction to further consolidate this attitude. I want this section to be brief and to lead into how this attitude toward women is illustrated in "The Dead." The remainder of the paper should smoothly move into a discussion of "The Dead" and how Gabriel treats and deals with women in this shortstory. For example, how Joyce creates a colleague of Gabriel''s and she is independent and rational - Mrs. Ivors, his condescension toward Lily, and Gretta - a woman he will never understand or love fully. There is a conflict here between the patriarchal system and Gabriel who is quintessentially "masculine." I would like this issue and the other mentioned further explored in the writing, yet never digressing from the main point of the paper. For the conclusion, I want it to be rather concise and sum up the main idea of the paper on a strong note. I want all these elements and others added at your discernment or out of necessity to be included in this paper. I will fax a list of suggested sources and a few copied sources that I think will help. I need seven sources, preferably a minimum of two in each paragraph - never the first or last sentence in the paragraph. Headers will be required at the upper left hand side of each page beginning with page 2 and they should consist of my last name, Lizana, and the page number. I will need a works cited page following the MLA format. I would like to receive the paper via email and standard mail - directly to my house if possible
