Title: Othello

Total Pages: 5 Words: 1834 References: 0 Citation Style: APA Document Type: Essay

Essay Instructions: For this essay I must discuss any individual character or pair of characters in Willianm Shakespear's Othello. And I must discuss his/her/their contribution to the play as a whole. I have to strive for a larger point about what the charactr(s) tell us about human nature, etc. instead of simply rehearsing their "literal" part. In other words, I have to avoid a simple thesis like "Roderigo is the comic relief," and strive for a larger point about where the humor derives from, why we need "comic relief," and so on. This is only an example I DO NOT WANT MY TOPIC TO CONCERN THIS SPECIF THESIS. I do however want it to be cleaver with specific evidence from the book. I dont want something that is completely obvious either. I dont just want certian instances mentioned I want them to be gone into great detail. I need at least 4 exact quotes with page numbers following. The quotes should not be more than two or three sentences long. (I also purchased a Bram Stoker's Dracula essay that I would like due on the same day I forgot to mention that I would also like the quotes short as well is it possible to get the message across for that essay?)It is permissable for me to use two outside sourses besides this one. I can say something like this "Famous Shakespearean David Bevington may argue that Othello has lost his sense of self-esteem due to specific interactions with Iago" I would use this to build a more general argument about Othello's internalization of racism. The whole other outside source should not overpower the whole paper. I dont have to use any at all, only if it helps. (I do not want that example written in the paper it was only given to help show what I am looking for)Thank You for the help.
