Essay Instructions: This is a Master's level Liberal Arts course in the Human Species. The paper asks to investigate the mean by which we human beings invest purpose and meaning into our lives through the construciton of an identity & what this construct may mean to the concept of human dignity. If classic philosophical texts can be cited, that would be EXCELLENT!!!! This professor likes lots of personal examples, and my stance is usually a fairly liberal one. I am a white woman and mother of four children if that helps define my voice in a paper.

Essay Instructions: Argue FOR the following statement: Human rights are important because they serve to achieve a certain level of human dignity.
The topic of Human Rights in this essay is human rights in the political sense that every human has the right to a set of human rights (example: the right to live, the right to food, the right to own property, etc.).
This essay is to be an exercise in normative political thought. You are to make an argument in this paper that follows the following form: 1) a statement of your position coupled with good reasons for holding it, 2) a statement of a reasoned objection to your position, 3) and lastly, a response to the objection. You may repeat this process as necessary. So overall, this paper MUST include 3 main things: an ARGUMENT, an OBJECTION to the argument, and a RESPONSE to the objection backing up the argument. There may be up to 3 objections to the argument, but please respond to the objections.
Also, regarding citing sources, you may use up to 2 sources. This essay is not based much on sources, but more based on normative political thought. So please rely more on simple ideas that get the point across on why "Human rights are important because they serve to achieve a certain level of human dignity".
