The assignment asks for a summary then a discussion. - say what the newspaer articles are saying in about 250 words then discuss this in relatyion to your knowledge and understanding about these matters from block1 of the module in the remaining 1200 words.

Essay Instructions: write about how fear appeals.
A persuader can base an argument on appealing to the audience on different emotions, however one emotional appeal is used extensively in persuasion and has been the subject of both theory and research: fear appeals. the basic idea is that you can change a persons behavior by engaging their fear.

for example anti- cigaret adds use pictures of black lungs or statistics about people dieing to convince viewers to not smoke.

Essay Instructions: The introduction should be a highly detailed description of a scene from story (like whats happening in the scene, what are the smells, what does Tayo see, whats happening around Tayo, not limited to those) that you feel captures the the theme of fear that a seamless blends into the articulation of the thesis for the essay.

The three body paragraphs should be further scences( but a more analytic dissection of them) in which supports, challenges, or antagonized by opposing elements in the storytelling. At least two direct quotes from the story in each body paragraph.
