After you have read through Chapters 6 & 7 in the Traditional Media Unit, you will see that the majority of material in the chapters discusses “types” of media in the classroom. Remember, these concepts are universal whether we are talking about the traditional K-12 classroom, community college, higher cation, or training and development.

If this was a face-to-face class, the best way to teach these types of skills would be through demonstration and experimentation. We call this “experiential learning”. I have provided a couple of references to help you understand this concept. However, in an online learning environment, it is rather difficult to ‘demonstrate’ how to use a white board.

Your task for this module is to write a research paper (4-5 pages in length) on how to teach experiential learning type skills ??" like those listed in the textbook -- in an online learning environment. Additionally, think about the way you would assess and evaluate your students to determine whether they learned the material or not. You will need to refer back to the Visual Design Principles discussed in Chapter 4. Also, Chapters 1 & 3 would provide you will great resources on how media can support learning. You will need to do some research on this subject. To complete your research, you will need to review some articles through the Joyner library. Essay Instructions: Instructions to students:

For this assignment you are required to explore and reflect upon your learning and development since starting your masters programme. This will enable you to become more conscious of your development needs and strengths and optimise your own development through reflection and action.
The assessment will consist of a reflective practice assignment at the end of the module (100% of final mark). This will consist of the final version of your learning agreement which has been approved by your tutor and a reflective learning statement about the extent to which development objectives have been achieved. The statement should be supported by reference to appropriate learning logs and a portfolio of evidence of the skills and knowledge developed. An action plan for ongoing future development should also be included. (Minimum of 3,000 words.)

The output of this assignment is the documentation of that process in the form of a Reflective Practice Assignment which should contain the following:-

1) Introduction to the theoretical concepts of reflective practice/experiential learning and a commentary and reflection on your initial reactions to PDP. (15% of overall mark)

2) The final version of your Learning Agreement which has been signed off by your module tutor. In your introduction to this agreement, you should provide some justification for the development objectives you have identified. (25% of overall mark)


3) The main body of your work which explores the extent to which you have achieved your development objectives and which is underpinned with relevant academic research. Also, you should use evidence from your learning logs to support what you say and evidence from other sources where you feel this is appropriate. All supporting evidence should be included in an appendix at the end of your statement. (40% of overall mark)

4) An Action Plan for ongoing future development which should indicate strategies and resources required to achieve your future aims. (10% of overall mark)

5) Formal report format is not required but work should be clearly presented and Harvard Referencing protocols adopted throughout the main body of the assignment and in the bibliography. Supporting evidence should be included in an appendix. (10% of overall mark)

Essay Instructions: My research question is: What are the career paths for teaching artists seeking to deploy into the field of community art and development?

My subthemes are not being addressed... according to my professor.

My theoretical framework is Bruner's constructivist theory and the conceptual paradigms of Kolbs Experiential Learning theory. If needed (?), the associated theories are Kinesthetic and Embodied Learning.

I have included my Introduction Chapter because it explains why I am conducting an auto-ethnographical research study, etc...

What I need is

a "skeleton" literature review written that meets the initial criteria of an introduction, sub-themes, topic sentences, synthesis of the sources, and my theoretical frameworks/conceptual paradigms addressed.

Essay Instructions: I will be faxing my specifications to the office. I have been given permission to use Kolb''s Learning Style Inventory as my tool for this study. Kolb''s Experiential Learning Theory is the framework for this study.I''m going to test 3-4 classes in undergraduate nursing programs at one baccularate program and 3-4 classes at a associate degree program. I would like to do a comparison of the students LSI scores and look at such factors as race, age, sex and gender to see how they differ. I will give the inventory and obtain a grade from the students most recent nursing course.
Kolb''s LSI describes the way you learn and how you deal with ideas and day-to-day situations in your life. LSI is a 12 sentence open ended questions the students students chose the ending.
