Essay Instructions: This paper is for an aviation management class. We have to pick an aviation business, or person/s to write a report on. I felt that the Columbia 7 would be a good topic to do the report on. Each crew member needs to be included in the report. The first part of the paper can include a little about what happened, and the facts about the Columbia STS-107 crash. This report just has to be a brief overview of each astronaut, and the crash of Columbia. I also need an outline of the report. Essay Instructions: Community history of Vancouver British Columbia: An historical analysis.

The overall objective of this assignment is to give the opportunity to examine your own community within the larger conmtext of western canadian development. The task is to prepare a short history. You must try to interpret and account for the change that is apparent over time. Do not neglect assessment of regional geographic factors. While the focus definately is to be upon the individual community or area, you are reminded that a community's political history is a local register of reaction to outside or distant forces, and that your study cannot be completely divorced from the larger provincial, and perhaps national scene.
In your conclusion you should try and stand back and reflect upon the broad sweep of your community's history over the decades. What seems to be the distinguishing features and what accounts for these?
Conclude your essay with an annotated bibliography. This means that you should make brief (sentence)evaluation of each of the sources.

Essay Instructions: This essay should be between 900 and 1000 words. It must include an annotated bibliography.

The Toulmin essay will help you practice what you have learned so far in this course. First, you will choose a topic of interest. Make sure that you choose a topic with two opposing sides. Then, you need to research that topic in order to specify the topic?s scope, so it can be easily discussed in 1000 word essay. For example, you may be interested in learning more about traffic issues in the United States. However, that topic is too large to cover in a 1000 word essay. After researching peer reviewed articles that discuss US traffic issues in general, you may discover that the metro system in the District of Columbia is underfunded and underutilized. Through your research, you found that you could make a claim that more funds should be made available in order to upgrade the metro system, which would improve traffic issues in the District of Columbia. This would make for a stronger, specific argument.

Within the body of your essay, make sure to include the following in any order:

support for your claim,
opposing or alternate views,
scholarly research,
and rebuttals.

Please make sure your essay is written in third person.

The Annotated Bibliography

An annotated Bibliography (AB) is due with your Toulmin essay. Using the MLA guide, list each source as it will appear on the Works Cited page of your essay. In two to three sentences summarize the text. I will be checking for grammar as well. This is what makes it an ?annotated? bibliography.
The following overused topics may not be used in your essay:

gays in the military,
mandatory drug testing,
euthanasia,
childhood obesity,
women in the military,
diets (including the Palio diet),
workout regiments (including CrossFit),
underage drinking,
and the legalization of marijuana.

This essay must include a minimum of five sources. Three should peer-reviewed sources, preferably from the APUS databases. You may use eBooks; however, as discussed in your textbook, books generally are not as current as peer-reviewed articles. You may also use primary sources (interviews, statistics, etc); however, these primary sources should be obtained from experts within that field.
